An industrial manufacturer was looking to effectively manage a complex project using SQL and VBA applications to maintain and improve their databases. Their goal included ensuring data accuracy, improving front-end database operations, establishing access permissions, and troubleshooting issues. They were looking for a SME on financial technologies and provide recommendations for improvements.

Solution

After analysing the client’s current environment, we recommended a new Microsoft Office VBA application including Front & Back-end web applications, and a full stack software application. Our software engineers identified additional process improvements to reduce workloads, improve quality, and implement software application solutions. We also created a software application in Visual Basic.NET that delivered word templates.

It immediately caused problems to an over-extended, aged system with numerous downtime and hardware failures because of needed maintenance.

Solution

Kosbit is a VMware partner with a high level of expertise installing VMware vSphere. The client approached us because of our reputation. After we conducted a regular IT audit of their current system, our VMware solutions engineers recommended a server virtualisation as an effective solution. We then implemented VMware vSphere. Kosbit deployed 10 virtual machines, configured and managed the vSphere infrastructure with VMware host client, and built virtual networks with vSphere standard switches.

The client now enjoys benefits by migrating from a physical to a virtual infrastructure. Virtual machines are not tied to a physical location, and thus they can be easily moved to different servers with zero down time, assisting with critical disaster recovery. Physical server failure is no longer a worry. Virtual machines on a failed host are automatically rebooted onto other hosts in the VMware.
